For decades Wendy Ewald has collaborated with children, families, women, and teachers around the world. Her documentary investigations probe questions of identity and cultural difference. She encourages her collaborators to use cameras to record themselves, their families, communities, and to articulate their fantasies and dreams. She has published fourteen books, the latest of which is The Devil Is Leaving His Cave, MACK 2022. Her work is collected by museums.

Brandon Smith lives in New York City. Originally from Detroit, Michigan, he received a college scholarship from the H.T. Ewald Foundation in 1996 and graduated with an AB in Philosophy from Princeton University. He served as an alumni advisor to the Foundation after college and has been a board member since 1999. Brandon is a computer programmer and Chief Architect at BioDigital, Inc.

Kristi Petry resides in Granville Ohio with her husband Shawn and three children Jackson, Andrew and Sierra. Kristi received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education from Central Michigan University. She currently works part-time at Kids Education and Recreation in Granville.

Holly Ewald is a visual artist and mother of twins. For over forty years she has blended studio work and public engagement through artmaking that has led her to collaborate with a variety of educational institutions, government employees and Rhode Island communities. Her studio work includes collage, book making, installation, painting and recently animation.

Leah Ewald is a fourth-generation board member and daughter of Cliff Ewald. Leah currently lives in Grand Rapids, MI. She received her bachelor’s from Hope College and then received her master’s in social work from Grand Valley State University. She currently works as a clinical social worker at an outpatient mental health clinic.

Cliff Ewald has lived in the metropolitan Detroit area since birth. Recently retired, Cliff was committed to two different careers, establishing successful small businesses in both Film/Video production and most recently Health, Fitness and Sports Performance.
