Mercy Education Project - (MEP) provides educational opportunities and life skills development for women and girls with limited access to resources, enabling them to improve the quality of their lives. MEP programs serve low-income and at-risk women and girls of color, primarily from Southwest Detroit, who have experienced educational challenges and failure.  

The H. T. Ewald Foundation supports MEP’s Emerging Leaders Summer Camp. The two-week camp features 10 professional field trips where the girls tour a variety of career-enlightening locations: the MI State Capital, Yankee Air Museum, Cranbrook Science Museum, Hitsville USA-Motown Museum and Penguin Conservatory at the Detroit Zoo. The support for this program is managed by Cliff Ewald .
